ProtoStar is the primary private underwriter for FestMusic Mallorca, a music festival in Mallorca, Spain.  Formerly known as Festival de Música Son Bono, this Mallorcan music festival features an eclectic mix of classical, contemporary, and traditional Spanish and Catalan folk music.

The Festival began with classical performances in 2019, but had to be suspended for three years because of the pandemic.  With a grant from ProtoStar, the Festival resumed in 2023 and was reimagined as Festival de Música Son Bono.  It held three concerts at Son Bono, a Catholic Church in the city of Palma de Mallorca, and featured a mix of classical and contemporary music and dance performances, as well as workshops for artists.

In 2024, ProtoStar continued to support the Festival, which was renamed FestMusic Mallorca to reflect its expansion, both geographically and in the number of concerts and workshops.  In addition to voice and cello, it added a drummer for certain pieces.  Local actors were on hand to entertain the audience.  There was even a cultural exchange with performers in Tenerife, which is part of the Canary Islands.

Plans in 2025 include additional concerts throughout Mallorca in the spring and fall, as well as a cultural exchange with a Southern California festival, which is also funded in part by ProtoStar.
