Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center

In March 2018, ProtoStar made a $5,000 grant towards the building of the new Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center (the “Conrad”) in La Jolla, California.  The grant was made in response to the Conrad’s “Take Your Seat” capital campaign.  The Conrad will be a 49,000 square-foot facility with a 500-seat concert hall, a 140-seat flexible use space, rehearsal rooms, an open courtyard, and office space for the staff of the La Jolla Music Society (“LJMS”).  The Conrad is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in 2019.  Once the Conrad is built, LJMS’s Community Music Center will have a permanent home there to increase the scope of its educational programs and further its educational mission, including holding classes, lectures, and demonstrations for K-12 students and offering them performance opportunities in a state-of-the-art concert hall.  ProtoStar has also supported the Community Music Center.
